It Takes A Village Preschool is committed to providing a high-quality early childhood setting that provides a child-centred play-based program for 2 ½ to 5-year-olds.  It Takes A Village Preschool is formally known as “Grace Church Markham Nursery School," an established non-profit organization that has been a part of the Markham community for almost 60 years.  We continue to build and foster strong and meaningful relationships with all of our past, present, and future families.

It Takes A Village Preschool program is built on the four foundations of HOW DOES LEARNING HAPPEN.  These foundations, Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression, are a vision for all children’s future potential and a view of what they should experience daily.  They are aligned with the Provincial kindergarten program.

Our teachers are knowledgeable, responsive, and reflective practitioners who continue to engage in the Continuous Professional Learning program.

It Takes A Village Preschool is governed by a Board of Directors that is made up of volunteer community members who play a crucial role in helping to shape our program.  All parents and guardians are eligible to run for a position on the Board through an election process.
